I really liked this grip, though I had to return it because of a factory defect. And after that, I went with the canon grip simply because it's weather sealed and I usually stand/walk in streams while shooting rivers and waterfall panoramas in the portrait orientation. Other than that, If you are gonna be high and dry just doing portraits, I don't see what would be stopping you from purchasing this item. For the price, I wouldn't hesitate. I think its excellent. If you don't need weather sealing, just save yourself some cash and pickup this puppy.
